First longish ride out with my son today. Him on his shiny new bike and me on his old clunker! Highlight was a long slightly downhill stretch with a howling gale behind us when we were flying along. One hour fifty and thirty miles. My bike slung in the garage, his cleaned and safe in his bedroom. Loved every minute. I need a new bike as well!

How much does it cost to Oldham?
:hello:Past you on the way to meet Bromptonfb,we went up Cragg vale over to Sowerby Bridge
back thru heb to littleborough,Mytholmroyd was the worst we saw for flood damage,
Loads of waterlogged furniture on the street, wiffy too with all that sewagexx(

And of course, lest I forgot, I saw PP round abour littleboro summit ;) the road over from bacup to walsden was torn up in places- rubble everywhere. Not a pleasant descent.

Went out for my 1st full Sunday club run yesterday with the Manchester Wheelers. 80miles out from Didsbury to Delamere forest and back. Great fun and to my surprise I was fine with the pace  Commute was a little slower this morning though

We encountered a flooded road on the way back. Cycling at full speed through water that came up to our ankles probably wasn't the best idea. Blooming good fun though

My Monday ride with my wife, we went to the local ice cream parlour north of romsey for a sundae for lunch then out onto the new forest for a calorie burn, some big hills and speed ,ended up straight through the centre ,beautiful scenery great weather ,I felt lucky 50 miles done ,no punctures and time spent with her in doors!!

16 miles into Windsor and back and luckily a puncture just as i got to the lbs in Windsor. Rush hour traffic out of Windsor,so not much fun or speed until i reached Eaton.
Clipless moment as i got to the bottom of my road resulting in a grazed knee

A hilly 19.5 mile ride with my brother and gavgav today going over Lyth Hill, up to Oaks, round the back roads to Pulverbatch then up to Wilderley before the fun (20mph+) descent to Dorrington and Condover before heading home.

Highlights of the ride were: My brother chasing a hare along the road, the driver who gave us so much room she almost dropped her car in the ditch and the two inept drivers who held us up because they struggled to get past each other on a 12 foot wide road.

It was really nice out; sunny, pleasantly warm and light winds - just what I've wanted from every ride this month so far. Perhaps summer is finally arriving?

I was going to sit all day waiting for a phonecall, I'm glad I didn't; I reconfirmed I have the job and they are just doing the standard HR background checks. Instead I went out with some mates for 60miles (3.9 miles, 350ft of climbing is missing from the GPS ;)) in the sun and contrary to the forecast yesterday its now going to be wet and windy for the next few days, I hope they are wrong again

Went out yesterday and decided to up my usual distance. Almost double what I normally do. Did 27.7 miles. Same average speed though, 16.2 mph. Not bad for an old bloke on a 30 year old bike.

I'm usually limited to max 2 hours for a ride as I have to cook dinner when I get in from work and feel I'm taking the mick if I stay out too long.
