Knew i'd have to stay on a couple of hours tonight at work but determined to squeeze at least 20 miles in.
Grabbed a microwave cheeseburger a few minutes before i put the padded trousers on and then headed out on a route i've
used before "straight out of work".
22 miles later i'm bonking!! Had to start munching the emergency dextro sweets to keep any sort of speed going over the
remaining 4 miles.
Haven't bonked like that for several months ... although i'm on my feet all day in a busy workshop i usually get home and "carb-load"
before going out. Maybe that cheeseburger was made of rubber after all!

26.7 miles this evening in the dark and drizzle, after tea. Left Clevedon, Yatton, Congresbury, A38 - Sandford - Banwell - WSM - A370 - Congresbury - Yatton - Home.

Ditto Colly, the moon was so bright I kept looking over my shoulder thinking a car was passing me, should have known better, rush hour in this neck of the woods equated to half a dozen cars passing me in 1 hours riding, my score was 15 [miles] and no [close] passes.

I've been struggling with a heavy cold but I made the effort and got out on the bike, Reiver's Route, onto Hadrian's Cycle Way and then the North Sea Cycle Route gets me back home after a steady 21 miles.

Cycled with little one to school as it was her first Cycling Proficiency day, then seeing as the sun was shining, I headed straight out on to NCN14 & NCN7 and got 38 miles of beautiful weather in.... as well as a new avatar.

Beautiful day here, all blue skies and sunshine. Did a 47 mile ride with the group, though the last 15 miles were a real struggle for me, thanks to my recent bout of man-flu. Glad I went though, first properly sunny day I've been out in ages and all the better for the complete lack of headwind!

it was the first day i commuted on my new single speed,,went to the gym on the way home ..
its on the freewheel side (44*18) and shamefully i had to get off and push on the way home ,,it wasnt a particularly steep hill(north hanover st in glasgow if u know it),just a proper stand up and push hard ,,but alas i couldnt do it ,,oh the shame  ,,very smooth and quiet though ,,so all in just about 13 mile (with a few hundred yards of pushing)

Had a very physical day at work today, pushing, pulling, heaving, lifting all manner of machinery.
Anyway, determined to get out tonight so grabbed a 12" pizza, then chucked on the cycling clothes and away i went.
32.5 miles in a leisurely 2h15mins, no rabbits/owls/foxes/deer seen tonight because it was too cold for them!
I saw -0.8c on my edge 800 display at one point, plus traces of hoar frost on certain roads.
Time to get the mountain bike out, more tread required when it gets icy!!

Out north-east via Hovingham, Barton-le-Street, Great Barugh to Pickering. Back via Slingsby, Castle Howard & Bulmer 52 miles. Left foot like an iceblock. Sunny, cold with a light wind.

Whilst having a sarnie & drink at Pickering Beck a mallard waddled up to me and dropped a £1 coin at the side of my foot - what's all that about?

It was paying for a sarnie!
