Well done Sittingduck

Sounds like you're feeling better then eh?

There is another milestone before 100 miles, imperial century - 100k - or 62 and a bit miles.

Next week?

Went out with Ron today. He is 70. Did a 10M TT on Thurs in 27 14 because he is recovering fm a chest infection. Yesterday he did a hard 45miles. Today was billed as a 20M pootle as he is doing another 10M TT tomorrow. We did 28miles including some of the finest hills Suffolk can offer.

I am not worthy

57km on the old Dawes Mean Street yesterday in the Doñana natural park in Southern Spain. A mix of exercise and birdwatching (don't suppose anyone here will see me but I'm the old guy with the binoculars hanging round his neck). Great sunny weather but a cold northerly kept the temp down. Stopped to help a Spanish MTBer walking along pushing his bike with chain in hand. He was glad I had my Topeak multitool in the pannier!

Raining here this morning so will just do my 19km tarmac circuit and then a BBQ late lunch if the rain eases.

Are there any others here who spend time in Southern Spain (Sevilla/Huelva provinces)?

20 miles off road..yes.... out at 8am, back by 10. Only MTB'ers I saw were on the canal, none of the bridleways in the hills round Mellor (Peak) - some great climbs - cut the route slightly short as I'd promised to be home. First 'real' off road ride for some time - the bike was loving it.

Even caught and passed a road bike on a steep road hill....ho...ho.... I did say "morning, and that I was cheating today as I'd left the road bikes at home...."

30 odd BLISSFUL miles through the Dales today. It was so beautiful - amazing weather, gorgeous blossom trees, amazing countryside. Loved every minute. And a great lunch with all the other cyclists in Burnsall at the cafe!! Just great...buzzing on endorphins!

Well the sun came out as I was about half way round so I diverted and did 51km. So it will be an evening BBQ instead...

Yesterday, it was 40 or so miles, today 36.
Yesterday I was knackered, today, I am as right as rain.
Yesterday had 2500 feet of climbing, today 800 feet.
Conclusion, hills are tiring.

120 kilometres with 1888 metres of climb and I am knackered now. Much more tired than after last week's SITD and I think it was to do with the wind. It was fine until we got just beyond Grassington then it started to blow and by the time we'd got up out of Halton Gill it was biting cold and really strong. I mustard mitt I struggled at times and even on the flat, there were times we could only get about 5mph! Was running on empty and realised I still had 20K to go and had no water or food left and there were no shops en-route! A nasty feeling really but pleased to have made it.

70 miles as an over distance 100km Audax from Otley to Selby and back via Wetherby and Tadcaster. The weather was perfect with sufficient sun and breeze to maintain a comfortable body temperature without having to wear long sleeves.
