Today is my Mums Birthday. So I cycled up to the summit of Mount Olympus and yelled happy birthday to her through the clouds. God bless you Mum. RIP XXX

Nice report, lovely photos, and bless you for remembering your mum that way.

What a lovely morning for a cycle to work. Left the house just before 6 and it was cold, dry with hardly a breath of wind. Saw 3 foxes and a couple of deer as well as the usual cows and horses on the way up to EK. Any traffic I did encounter was well behaved and gave me plenty of room. Arrived at work 50 minutes later after a fairly leisurely 20km. Now I'm showered, shaved, refreshed, envigorated and ready to face the day

Did the usual short commute from Waterbeach station but then diverted off a side road in Fulbourn and ended up giving the cross bike it's first real mucky off road ride;only came off once and was really enjoying it but reality kicked in and had to turn back to work.

That thud you heard was @ianrauk fainting at the very thought of someone taking a photo of their dirty bike instead of cleaning it straight away

(Talking of, @Mattonsea might be interested to hear that I've finally cleaned the Orbea...)

I didn't intend to ride today but then seen the weather....also, my lad was at college but forgot his drink (and didn't have money with him to buy one), so being the good mummy I am, I took it to him
12 glorious miles via Helix Park - and a free bike wash

no ride today....but yesterday brought one..in the autumn sun.... 8 miles around on the MTB at Peterborough in the morning and 6 around the home town Huntingdon on the roadie (for a change) with that all too often near miss..... grrrr....

Woman in a 52 plate Clio couldn't wait for me to check for traffic at the junction give way and to proceed on, she decided that the 2 seconds for me to do that was too long to wait.... and she managed to drive so close she clipped me on the elbow with her car..... oblivious she sped off....to the set of traffic lights where I caught uup with her and suggested that she paid attention to cyclists more and asked her in a sarcastic voice.... if my flashing rear lights and hi viz jacket not bright enough at 14:50 on a sunny day...and if they were not she should visit Specsavers.... the lights changed and she buggered off.... no doubt to do something similar to other cyclists.....

Following Saturdays wonderful warm weather, I came down to earth with a bump this morning. Flippin' heck it was chilly. Roubaix longs, S/S tee and jacket, plus my thermal hat was my getup today. Still, warmed up after a few miles. I wanted to try and stick to a pace today, and rather than rush about span along happily at around 14mph. With no particular destination in mind I was unsurprised to find myself doing a few circuits of WGP, nice enough in the sunshine but far more windy than I expected.
30 miles, just over 1000ft of climbing, that'll do me.
Only the one photo, taken at the same spot as last time, but pointing the other way.

Another non working day today so following a bit of bike maintenance this morning & given the rubbish weather forecast for the rest of the week I decided to make the most of a fine afternoon & take a little ride out to another one of the few areas of the New Forest I actually hadn't been to.

After heading north into a chilly northerly breeze I crossed into Woodfalls & down through Hale into Godshill on mostly single track lanes & despite nearly being taken out by an idiot van driver going too fast & a family of squirrels playing in the road it was a very pleasant route which I will add to my list of local sorties.

30 miles in all & 1250ft of going up albeit a little slower in the cold air.
