Sounds like a plan
Yep, I'd be up for this, Sundays also my preferred day to ride.so a local forum ride could develop if you like......
I wonder if that's an illegally blocked public right of way. Note the end of route sign on the lamp post.Anyways, I continued towards Wellingborough, and for some unknown reason, ended up in the town centre. It wasn't my plan, but, hey-ho, I've not ridden around there before..

I wonder why? This was advertised as the cycle route to the town centre..
its bloomin hot today. I decided to go for a bimble along the local lanes. I started my ride at the small vilage of Cemaes. From there I rode over the bridge over the river Dovey and turned right onto a very narrow lane. View attachment 48465
.
I live in Branston if you know Burton so the ride was Walton, (edge of) Alrewas, Tamworth. M42/A444 Island then Linton, Rosliston Home.... cracking weather and 2 and half hours of pure peace and quiet.....
Quite a few of the estate alleyways have been railed off to stop the local scrotery using them to escape their misdemeanours.I wonder if that's an illegally blocked public right of way. Note the route sign on the lamp post.
Just by that sign is an Indian restaurant which used to be a pub called 'The Four Counties' as it almost borders the listed 4 counties..... I think my ride was 20 miles at that point..... but if you go directly via A444 its barely 15 miles to Warwickshire! (loads more to Warwick itself though)I too am in rideing distance of Branston,BurtonAlrewas,Tamworth & Rosliston.
And I am amazed that Burton is close to Warwickshire.
SWA (small world alert)
We have friends at Another place who used to live in Cemaes & still have an interest in the village.
I have cycled over the Dove on that bridge & up that lane.
The forecast torrential rain never materialised: I wonder how many didn't go out today because they expected a soaking?!
It materialised here very successfully. My OH decided it wouldn't when he cycled to work this morning without his waterproof top (I don't know why, I really don't). I kindly put a towel by the front door for him, it was all I could think of. Not a stitch of dry clothing on him after a 45 minute commute - stopped raining the moment he got home . Still I had the same on Tuesday evening and I had my waterproof top on and he wasn't waiting at home for me with a towel !The forecast torrential rain never materialised: I wonder how many didn't go out today because they expected a soaking?!
