Interesting that the Blackcap was in a Mahonia - whenever one overwinters in our garden it's the Mahonia they gravitate towards!

Seems to be a thing…

Staying on a caravan site at Lands End and just saw the first Swallows of the year.
Loads of them flitting around the site.

I’ve only seen one so far. That was on Tuesday morning, being propelled by a massive tail wind.

Doves and pigeons always seem to nest in the daftest places. We regularly get a pair of Woodpigeons nesting in one of our garden trees, but nearly every year the eggs or worse the chicks end up on the ground underneath as the nest isn't secure .
