I‘ve seen them flashing past going down the river, but still not seen one perched close up.

There's a fair number of Kingfishers on the Mashes across the road from me. Have quite often raced one along a drainage ditch that runs alongside the road.

There are kingfishers in the Ravensbourne, down in SE London. They quite often use the same perches so if you see one perched you have a good chance of seeing it again. The ones in the Ravensbourne seem to use them at similar times of the day (though as it's tidal, they may be going on depth of water).

Red squirrels!!! A bit of a natural success story as they seem to be expanding into the town of their own accord. First time I've spotted them.

That bird has got quite an interesting expression, almost can hear it saying "I know what you're doing and I normally charge for it"

Couple of days back, four in the afternoon and two foxes amble up the drive, across the lawn, round the oil tank, stop for a look around, then continue up the bank behind my house into the woods. Not a care in the world, like they owned the place. My brave dog was fast asleep on the sofa.

Lovely! However my Sparrowhawk popped in again today so he needs to be carefu!

Half a dozen Redpolls feeding on birch seeds in the garden again. Slightly better (at least recognisable) pics through a disgracefully dirty bedroom window.

Camera battery exhausted after this, then marauding Magpies scared them off just as I was replacing it! One male was sporting a distinctly red upper breast - developing breeding plumage - but he was higher up the tree, silhouetted against the light. Showed OK through the scope, but couldn't get a good pic, due to the contrast, my lack of skill with this camera, and intervening twigs. Sorry!
