I've been to Handcross a few times, one of my cousins used to live in Slaugham, just south of there and my mother & me went down to stay sometimes during the summer holidays. That was an epic journey, half hour bus ride to Darlington then a five hour National Express coach ride to London Victoria, then onto the Gatwick express to the airport to be to picked up. I recall walking to Handcross up Park Road a couple of times. I still have a penknife that I bought in a shop there, probably mid eighties.
