Anchor from a french warship from about 1700 on. Was a snag for the fishing nets untill removed from the sound.

Nice wall. There is also one in Geldston, Norfolk opposite the Wherry Inn.

As well as being decorative they are quite clever - a single skin of brickwork is made stable by corrugating it. Of course it is also longer and occupies more space but there is still a saving in bricks compared to a double thickness wall.
