I think this used to be a sign of some sort? Seemed long since stolen or rotted away. The tiny sign pinned to the right post was about fire retardant material... Perhaps it used to be a sofa?

They are indeed called that... we've got an outlier here in Devon, but I've not been able to see it, as it's in private grounds.

Typically I chose the steepest part of the bank to lift the bike up to the wall. A nice example of a round tower church opposite for my box ticking exercise of visiting as many round tower churches as possible by bike.

The tower on the Bramfield church (St. Andrews) is also unusual in being separate from the main building and the bus shelter in the village also has a thatched roof if you're looking to fill in a few of the threads in this photo section.

A sheep dipping trough, near St Mary Hill. From all the wool on the ground, and a field full of shorn sheep next to it, looks like it has been recently used (sheep are normally dipped immediately after shearing for those unfamiliar with sheep farming).

If they were dipping then the wool could be from dagging
