The backwards clock complete with Worker was originally in Beccles: just around the corner from my works. And disappeared some years ago now….

Are Ransomes still in business nowadays?

There implements were still very common when I was growing up, especially their ploughs. I think they may have been sold through Ford tractor agents with Ford approval. I'm out of touch with modern farm machinery now and have no idea who makes what any more.

They still have a large presence on the industrial estate bearing their name, but now go under the name Ransomes Jacobsen. Whether it's a manufacturing or (more likely) an assembly set up these days, I have no idea.
