Staying here for the week. The local villages all have bikes out decorating the lamp posts, village signs, schools etc. For the avoidance of doubt, mine is the one on the ground. 🧐

Given our often idiosyncratic pronunciation of place names, I wondered about this one as I passed through the other day:

I imagine why-mond-ley would be too obvious? Might it be wim-ley?
Any locals able to help?

Lived in Stevenage for nine years, always assumed it was 'why-mond-ley', with the 'h' not pronounced, meaning the modern pronunciation of the 'Why', not the older.
