Surely the grandest of all milestones at Bredon, near Tewkesbury in yesterday's sparkling sunshine. I pass this one quite often, usually early in a ride when I'm not ready to stop, and sometimes before it's fully light. With the need to plan more convoluted routes keeping closer to home, for once I arrived at an opportune time:

I was puzzled by "Upton 6 miles" until I looked at the map and discovered that until quite recently there was a ferry at Twining, which makes it about right.
