MIBFO of a tree in front of the site of St. Mary's RC Church, Chapel Lane, Old Langho. There were originally four and this is the last survivor, outlasting the church as well by 60 years or so.

The venerable, eight century old chestnut. (Castanea sativa). Which of the straighter, younger, boles count as part of the ancient, I know not.

I believe all the stems are ariel rooted and so the whole copse is one tree. Much like the Weeping beech at Knaphill, Surrey.
Good you put the bike in the picture of the Lime for scale. Impressive tree.

& yet, the character of the boles from the rooted branches is so different to the original, you do wonder if claiming them to be as old may be stretching things...
