Everyone disagrees with me but i do argue that back in the early 80's when heavy metal bands were regularly troubling the top 40, heavy metal was pop music. Trad sounding rock'n'roll bands were also in the charts, that was also pop. We can call it what we want after the event but at the time...

I know A Little Respect is generally considered their defining moment but for me this is their best. Vince Clarke knows how to take geeky tech synth sound creation and combine it with proper pop music. The guy's a genius, and if you haven't heard his more recent techno project with Martin Gore then you really should check it out.
