I manage a walking pace fine using the rarely used granny gear on my ebike, assist obviously off. Its probably aided by its wide tyres. Obviously there may be times when propelling along by foot is necessary.

Yes, you might, but just watch many a road cyclist wobbling away from the lights at low speed, holding up all the cars they just pushed past, while they try to clip into the silly pedals.....

Most people do I understand, although there are some who choose the left pedal.
