This is a bit of an obscure thread. Few will be interested.
When you upload a picture to RWGPS it normally shows a little photo icon on the ride map showing where the picture was taken. Click on this icon and you can see the picture. Like this:
But it doesn't always do this. I find that pics from my phone work fine, but ones from my camera don't. They upload ok but don't get a location icon on the map.
At first I thought this was a geotagging issue. But my camera tags photos with GPS co-ords so it wasn't that.
It turns out that RWGPS uses the time taken from the uploaded picture file. It then cross checks that with the track log to figure out where the picture was taken.
My camera doesn't populate that field. But I found that if I manually set it correctly in the photo file, it all works ok.
I've been using a tool called PhotoRex to do that. It's not the greatest (doesn't allow time to be set to the second - at least not in the free version) but it works. I may figure out a better/easier way.
So if you've encountered this problem, now you know the cause, and a possible fix.
