Eyesight first for me... I too had hawk-like abilities, but have had some damage to left eye through macular degeneration, which is a bit scary. Arthritic left knee and greying temples, general tendency towards grumpiness and raging against the dying of the light. ;)

Sounds familiar that but I can't quite place it <strokes chin>. Memory loss for me.

I'm going to grow old disgracefully. It's the only way.

Oh yes.... I'm giving that a go....

Erm eyesight - been short sighted since my late teens, but noticed in the last year, that any close up work, I have to take my glasses off to see better (only 39)... The optician, when I had my last set of glasses (about 18 months ago) said...."oh you won't be able to leave eye appointments as long (I'd not been for 4-5 years) now that you are nearly 40".......:angry: grrrrr.....grrrrr....young cow !!!!;)

Plus side - I can still fall off well, especially when hit by a car......the bones still have enough rubber compound in them, and I'm riding faster than I did 10-15 years ago....;).....can't complain...

Neither. Doing it. I can still think about it and I'm not inclined to talk about it.

I can't be the only man who regrets not having sex with young women any more. I reckon most men would ditch their current partners if someone waved a magic wand and they suddenly became as attractive to 20 yr old women as they were in their prime.

The wee girls in my office lust after my skier's and cyclist's backside. And I'm 52.

I suppose being able to see the rest of your life and accepting that it'l be much the same, whereas when you were young it was an endless life of unknown possibilities

And accepting a collection of injuries over time that won't ever really get better, at present I'm sporting, bad left shoulder (cycling), a dodgy neck and shoulders (cycling) a dodgy right wrist (football) and some veruccas and a wart

Still happy with my lot though, the cycling makes me feel vibrant and fit (while I'm riding anyway) and I get to West Ham regular which is another way of feeling alive, adrinking and asinging and aswearing with likeminded people

I'd have to say younger people not valuing your ideas as much as their own, both in the work situation and socially. We all get to be on the receiving end of this eventually.
Yeah, but WTF do they know?

Miscellaneous aches and pains that come and (so far) eventually go, but each and every one of which reminds you of your mortality.

That, and the cost of funeral plans these days...

Bugger that. I have left clear instructions I'm to go in a cheap wicker basket that is to be burnt in the back garden and everyone is to get pissed. No flowers or I will haunt them. Then forget about me and get on with your life. It's too short ffs.

Do I qualify for "Grumpy Old Men" yet?
