We all know that overall, getting older is a fantastic thing but there are one or two downsides. For instance, I used to have the eyesight of a hawk but not any more. I can still tell what colour shoelaces someone has on his boots on the top of a mountain 6 miles away but my close up vision deteriorates by the day and I now need glasses for reading books with small print. What are you finding the worst aspects of anno domini?

Failing physically. My right knee and left shoulder have had it.

Also since about five years ago I seem to have finished my generation's round of marriages and I only ever seem to go to funerals these days.

Eyesight first for me... I too had hawk-like abilities, but have had some damage to left eye through macular degeneration, which is a bit scary. Arthritic left knee and greying temples, general tendency towards grumpiness and raging against the dying of the light.

Nostril hair and ear hair - I have to trim it as often as I shave these days.

(Funnily enough, age has improved my eyesight. In my early 20s, I became slightly short-sighted, and thos worsened a little into my 30s. Earlier this year I had my eyes re-tested and my vision is now perfect again and I no longer need glasses !)
