"Look....."

As in the opening word of an answer from a politician or other senior establishment figure. Surely they mean 'Listen' not 'Look'? In any case, to me, their use of the word is akin to saying, "Are you thick or something? Don't you understand? Pay attention, listen and learn you numbskull" What's more, the fact that this device was so widespread within the "political community", the integrity of their whole statement/interview lost its credibility for me. To be fair, I haven't heard it much in recent weeks so perhaps the L word has had it's day?
Yeah, that's another one that annoys me.

It's popular with sportsmen in general but Australian cricketers in particular.

Starting a comment or answering a question with look or listen does sound rude, almost provocative. :stop::boxing:

A truck I was driving yesterday had an 'Infotainment system'.
It was touch screen gibberish to me!

I can't recall the word for two half words joined together to make a new one, someone will soon tell me, but Infotainment annoys me...

how about "my good friend"

OK if this is your good friend - i.e. someone who you have know for some time, share a lot of things with and feel really close to - and the feeling is mutual

but often this is just someone that they meet up with occasionally for business and they are introduced to someone else as 'my good friend'

Not they are not - this is a business acquaintance
if I was actually a good friend and you introduced a simple business acquaintance as a good friend I would be annoyed

In fact - in general - especially in the USA - excessive upgrading of words and phrases - for example, we are watching CNN a lot at the moment due to trump etc etc and they are always saying "thank you so much"
toooo much - "thank you" would do just fine - save the "so much" for when someone has put in a major effort to appear - otherwise they will get a guest who has battled through a major storm and overcome all sorts of stuff just to appear because they have an especially important message
and they get the same thanks as someone who walked through from next door

'Everyone', as in 'Everyone's talking about x', when I have never even heard of x.

Careful - you'll be complaining about the Radio4 "Many thanks" every 2 minutes. They've turned it into a religious mantra.

'Superb'... as used by the slimy sales manager of a housebuilding firm I worked with- he used it to describe everything he'd tried for the first time, especially meals he'd eaten... "the wine/ seafood/ steak was superb".

Lol. I had a supervisor at work that used it constantly too, along with “to die for”. We all had to hide our sniggers every time she said it.
