What a load of rubbish my previous comment was, but some of you might know what I was trying to say ie "a" instead of "an".

Apologies - it's still a bit too early for me.

The use of the word 'hate' when 'that mildly irritate you' is more apt makes me want to go and decimate everyone.

I don't like the word "value", when what is actually meant is "cheap". Genuine value is cheap and has an element of quality. A brand new £49.99 Asda MTB, say, is not good value, it's just cheap.

" I shall inform your superiors " Oh will you now, well I may have someone who occupies a senior position to me but nobody is superior to me.

This is simply an example of a word whose meaning has moved from its roots. Sure the Latin term had a specific meaning in military punishment (every tenth soldier would be killed), but that's not what it has meant in everyday English usage for a long time.

You say it is all part of a wonderful and vital narrative of a population reaching out and driving linguistics forward with new meaning and vigour.

I say they are morons who do not know the difference between nine and one.

We don't meet on common ground.

OK? :hello:
