Goodness, that was quick. Just got in and sat down to figure out what's going on in the racing today and the first stage of the Giro d'Italia Women is already over. It was a short time trial.

Longo-Borghini, Grace Brown, Brodie Chapman 1-2-3* Kopecky 5th @25 sec

*1-2-3 all in my fantasy team

Cracking start! ELB looked utterly delighted and overwhelmed to be in pink! I’d love her to win the whole thing!

I just tried to watch the highlights on Discovery plus. What a total sh1tshow. It was just bits and pieces chopped together with the commentary starting and finishing abruptly mid sentence, mid word even.

But that wasn't the worst aspect. Some clips were used over and over so you got the same shot of Kopecky turning a corner and a the same disjointed bit of commentary FOUR TIMES. Followed by some clips shown a mere two times.

At first I thought it might have been my playback skipping back somehow but no, I could rewind a minute - Kopecky goes round a corner. Rewind a bit more there she is again, same corner. Rewind a bit more - hello Lotte, enjoying the corner?

They must have been banking on no one watching it. I gave up.

It's a shame the women's Giro has been totally overshadowed by the Tour. I only have so much attention that I can pay to cycling and it has lost out so I'd lost track of it.

I just watched the Blockhaus climb stage. Epic duel between Longo Borghini and Kopecky. Great win for Bradbury. One second difference in GC going into the final day.

I totally agree with this! I’ve been so excited for the women’s Giro but I can also only handle so much TV watching and I’ve not made the most of this Giro due to the TdF!

However…what a phenomenal last stage and last mile! I couldn’t watch, I had to find out the result before I could watch the end! Over the moon for Elisa! Actually cried a bit! She wanted this so badly! It’s been an amazing race!

Women's Giro has been great. Because it's only 8 days the Kopecky <> Longo Borghini battle has been intense.
