You know SS, I had actually seen those but discarded them on the bases they don't have eyelets for mudguards (got it into my head that I need eyelets for guards for winter use ??) although that orange Ribble and the thought of a project does really appeal.

Have you read the details on the red Ribble. Sounds like an advert written by a call centre adviser. (or maybe an Italian)

No worries. As for mudguards, don't get hung up about eyelets, you can fit Crud Road Racers, or SKS Race Blades to virtually any bike, (I occasionally use MK1 Cruds on my CAAD10).

Alternatively, if you get something with clearance for full guards, you can fit them using P clips anyway :thumbsup:
