I had fairly slick tyres but fine on park paths or rougher shared pavements

Just don't use Marathon plus tyres, awful things in my experience!

If going for a Boardman, can get 10% off if a British cycling member. If not, The discount will more than cover the joining fee and you'll get all the other benefits too

I'd still choose a Whyte over Boardman though

Discount cycles direct often have good deals on the older Whyte models if happy to buy online.

Mine does the stuff you are anticipating with no trouble. I have no qualms about its strength and capability.

I know the Boardmans are better value and probably the Pinnacle as well but subject to a test ride I agree, would choose the Whyte

May be a few weeks before I get to test them all but will update thread when I have.
