My singlespeed on a wet ride to work a few weeks ago. This is a 1977 Mercian Campionissimo frame which I bought as a complete bike with mostly knackered parts; I think the only original bits are the frame, forks and seatpost.

No they don't, because if I swap them on to another bike they won't fit

All the new bits added. New BB fitted. Nitto bar and stem. New XDS fork to fit Ultegra callipers. Hadbuilt wheelset, Dura Ace hubs and H Son+ rims...

I never thought I would want a single speed with all of the hills around here but after putting a 24 tooth freewheel on a new to me Fuji a couple of weeks ago simply because I like the uncluttered look it gives the bike I find I now use it almost daily for a 3 mile circuit I like to do in the afternoon before cooking dinner.
Yes it need handlebar tape, this was before I finished it.

What is the gear ratio?

Intended single speed. Dawes Kingpin folder that is entirely too agricultural for my liking. The intention is to replace the wheels, transfer the freewheel and have a 48/16 single speed. The question will be whether that will cope with town riding.

I have no idea in gear inches but is 1-1.5 so low, it gets me up the hills around here and cruises at about 6 mph which is fine with me as I like to sit up and smell the roses while riding.

So the traditional way would be 1.5 X 27inch wheel diameter =40.5.inches penny farthing equivalent.
