You are taking it to extremes as having small breasts would not automatically lead to spinsterdom, what is virtually "automatic" is the advantage that breasts have IF the objective is to attract men. I don't think this is rocket science and I am not suggesting women walk around covered from head to toe but ...
There is also the angle that anything secret or hidden is more exciting (liable to cause a disturbance)than something commonplace, if you spend anytime on a European beach bare breasts do became commonplace and consequently loose a lot of their 'naughtiness'.
I sense that you are presenting this as in some way unfair to women so to level things out: bare breasts/chests OK on the beach, at the table when out for lunch with wife and kids = not so much.

I have a feeling that female breasts are a little bit more than "lumps of fat". As they serve no function when not lactating they should blow up when breast feeding and deflate soon after but this is not the case. I think it is likely that they evolved because men/mate are attracted to them (to put it mildly) and this is the same reason why they should be used discretely as not all attention would be appreciated.

there are two offences on this thread...the first person who posted 'need pics' as that joke should be left to rest in peace...then there's the always hilarious addition of lots of spaces before an unfunny punchline...though I suppose there should be a special mention for Davyo as quoting in full an unfunny 'spaced' post probably reserves a ringside seat in hell.

Breasts are just a way to feed offspring. It has nothing to do with attracting a mate as during the menstrual cycle when the unfertilized egg and unused womb tissue is removed by the body the breasts are are often fuller and more sensitive (blooming irritating). Also males used to (and often still do) mount the female from behind, so not much point of breasts if it is regard for sexual stimulation.

It's odd looking through this thread how different people act or think when it comes to the topic of breasts! It's just another part of the body that is not always used for the purpose it was intended for (feed offspring) yet it can cause outcries of rage or laughter if displayed in the open. Men's breasts react to touch the same way that women's do and often swell during sexual arousal and yet it is the female that must remain covered.

This is what I meant by gender issues - historically, women have been seen as objects to the male sexuality.

It's tricky to discuss issues like this here- believe me I have tried.

I can only think it's a cultural thing we have, as there are plenty of other cultures where females being topless is the norm - I'm thinking tribeswomen here.
