I went with my gf to New Cross to look at a bike (for her). £70 for a 70s peugeot Amsterdam-style bike. It was a rust bucket; I told her not to buy it. She didn't. I wish she cared more about the bike than the "look"!

Funny, I noticed an Amsterdam-style bike in Deptford market this morning - I've no idea what price they were asking and I didn't stop to have a good look but it looked in pretty good condition (for a walk past assessment). It can be worth having a look round the market from time to time and don't forget to see what the Union Cycle Works, behind the Railway Car Café in Deptford High Street, have in stock - best to visit on a Saturday.

six nations weekend. only rugby is more dear to my heart than cycling, and this morning I had a pile of DIY tasks to sort out.

England clearly do not care about the Grand Slam. This irks me.

To be fair although they played poor (for first 50 mins) I think Ireland took it as their world cup final. Not to take the performance away from them as it was good but I reckon England need another leader within the squad to perform in these type of games.

Will wait and see how France v Wales goes now..

All those that have been out doing more than 14 miles, you are excused.
Even if you only managed 1 mile this week, you too are excused, we're all in this together.

My 14 miles home was bloody great. Second time this year wearing shorts (first time was a bit chilly!) and I loved it.

That makes a grand total of 84 miles this week, although as the days get warmer and longer I think this may increase .

And to those that are riding tomorrow, it's looking warm and dry. Enjoy.

It's my only day off so I'm going to be doing a nice Lamb roast with a homemade mint/redcurrant sauce, washed down with plenty of wine.

Not sure thats relevant to a cycle forum, just thought I'd share.

I managed 8 miles today to the police station and back

Not to worry your asbo runs out soon. Does the electronic tag cause interference with your cycle computer?

Did an 11 hour shift today so only 5 miles of commuting. On nights tommorow so early morning ride into the hills is planned.

90 miles last Sunday, then 13 miles a day commuting all last week, today has been my rest day, we were also getting the chores and shopping done. Tomorrow I'm of to the Licky Hills, should be around 60 miles, should also be a club ride but I'm planning a lone ride for tomorrow,

Here for rides.

This Englishman is thoroughly fed up. Not even seeing Wales perform just as badly as we did cheered me up. We've won the Six Nations and it feels like a complete anti-climax.

Bunch of diffident English playboys went to Dublin, ended up in a street fight, and got mugged.

Still I've got a club run in the morning, no not that kind, I run with a jogging club on a Sunday morning these days, after which I'll go for a nice bike ride to cheer myself up.

I did sneak a 30 miler in yesterday though as the weather was brilliant! Riding along above Seascale beach with the sun glinting off of the sea, I could have almost believe it was summer

Well when you asked that question I was in the garden weeding enjoying the sun, and shortly after I went out on the bike to meet some friends for tea - and it was so nice the helmet stayed in my pannier both ways .... so that I could feel the sun on my hair.... it was a glorious day. This morning has started grey but it looks as though it appears to be thinning.... but my parents are coming so I won't be out on the bike today.

I'm stuck running my shop until 4pm, whats your excuse? (Although stuck, I have spent 2 hours out the back room stripping the cassette and disc brakes, all looking super shiny!)
What trade are you in, Blokey-chap?

Oh, wait, you're Cobham, I was thinking of Chobham which is a lot more local to me.

The only time I get sun on my hair is when I leave my shirt buttons undone.
