Today was my first 'proper' ride since I crashed a couple of months ago. And my first ride on the bike I crashed.
I'd planned a route which I estimated to be 40odd miles but I took a wrong turn and doubled back on myself by accident. I still managed to do 40 miles yet somehow feel cheated as I'm sure I could have done more had I not mistaken one junction for another.
I was a little hesitant into the corners but the bike is fine, my hand (which I broke) now aches like hull. I guess practice will get me used to cornering again and help strengthen the hand.
Today managed just 15 miles due some fence painting ....
However, my route took in a hill I haven't been up since about October last year, and then I had to stop twice due to out of breath/energy. This time it was straight up, no stopping and not out of breath !!! Also the right gearing at the right time helped.
Quite pleased with myself, it was only 0.5 km (A40 up to Beaconsfield) but these success build your confidence.
