It's surprising how many cafes don't 'allow' you to order a fry up after their arbitrary (no more breakfasts after this time) rule given its popularity.

I've never gone 'falling down' over it, but not far off

A few times per year. Would not mind having it more often but my weekends never pan out that way; I'm on the go from the time i wake up.

As he said.....he can't compare one hotels poached egg to another's fried egg etc

I know, so why isn't he comparing one hotel's poached eggs with those of another? Or the continental breakfasts offered by different hotels?
He should change his job title to fry-up inspector.

I have bacon and egg most mornings, but not a full Fry up. Sometimes fried egg, sometimes poached, occasionally scrambled. I have a full English probably once or twice a year on holiday

Just listening to a hotel inspector talking about his job.
For TWENTY TWO years he eats a full breakfast every day. He reckons that is 3,000 (i have not done the math)
He has to have the same every day as he must compare like for like .
Sounds dreadful to me.
surprised he's not died of a heart attack.

a rare treat for me, and even if staying at a hotel , far more likely to have say poached eggs or smoked hadfock and poached egg than a full english.

We do like a bacon sarnie cafe stop on sunday morning cycling though

Couple of times a month. Most recently at Dale St Kitchen in Liverpool on Sunday.

Very very good for those local.
