Oooh, SS Uganda. I went on a schools cruise on that ship many years ago.
The UK also had refugees from Uganda in the 70s. Did they come to CC too?

I'll have you know I did 10 laps of the top deck on a uniccyle. No mean feat considering how cramped it is.

I clearly came over on a different boat. My rubber dingy certainly didn't had a top deck, or a bottom one.

No? Wow. My mother sailed on it through the Red Sea to the Cape. It got mangled in the Falklands war IIRC. Broken up in 1992 sadly. Very pretty ship in her pomp.

Was used as a schools cruise ship up to the Falklands. Had a number of private cabins too and was used in Brideshead Revisted as well.
Used as a hospital ship in the Falklands war, and never run commercially thereafter, hence then broken up.
