I went out today and at times it was like hitting a brick wall. 45 miles today felt more like more and I got home exhausted.

Oh well if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger.

Went out at 8am, got drenched and the wind was absolutely mental, our club only ventured out for 35 miles in the end.

Even more depressing was that when I left home it was 9 degrees, so I was all winter clothed up as well, first time since Feb. Pass me the anti-depressants, autumn's here.

me, wanted to venture out with the kids this afternoon but they don't do well in the wind. My eldest (7) has just started on a 24" Carrera and he does ok but my middle child (4) is just off stabelisers and onto a bmx thing, she's still a bit wobbly without the wind lol

Went out this morning and did 51 miles doing a circuit over the hills, 7 miles directly into it, loop back and repeat, 3 times, according to the local weather forecast, avg wind speed was 27.2 mph with the max at 30.3mph

Yesterday I did 91 miles, 32 miles out with the wind behind me, 43 miles back directly into it, then raced home with it behind me to unwind. wind speed avg 18.8mph and max of 20.5mph. All of the route was hilly in the Yorkshire Wolds.

Get out in it, it won't kill you

I only hate a head wind, I love a tail wind.

The trick is to plan your ride so that you will be riding against the wind at the start of the ride and have the wind behind you on the way back, it's great that way

Went out today, bit hairy with crosswinds in some parts. Quite gusty too. Went down Blackstone Edge towards Littleborough on the way home. Last month with the easterlies I was up to 40mph as I went past the White House, today I went by directly into the wind at a glorious 12mph!
At least the wind meant I dried out quickly from the heavy showers.

Quite like breeze but was resting today. Will do a run tomorrow when it is forecast to be stronger here, as it is good hill-training without have to get to the hills!

I'd rather get wet than ride in headwinds

Well I got both today, soaked to the skin, but thanks to the strong headwind, I dried out in minutes, but there again, I only had a tight fitting SS jersey so it does not flap and parachute in the wind, bib shorts, socks and shoes.

Same again tomorrow, but winds forecast to drop a bit
