it has to be a wind up especially the bit about the dreaded negative equity on the two London and two country properties.

You could be right, a bit hackneyed but there's still some great material in the article...

"There is no point trying to buy children a cut-price version of what they ask for. They are ferociously loyal to their brands and they would far rather have a cash donation towards a real pair of Uggs than be palmed off with a fake pair from Sainsbury’s.

Yes, Christmas is heaven for the rich, but increasingly hellish for the less well-off. The plight of those of us living in reduced circumstances is made even worse by those lucky enough to have remained in employment, who are also enjoying vastly reduced mortgage rates."

Of her own volition, she moved from London to the back-of-beyond where she could get a "better standard of life" and play at being a countrywoman.. Then she moans about no police patrols or passing traffic in the early hours of the morning!

I might write a column about her one day!
I think that's fair. She'd probably be the first to complain about local government waste, but wants a gritter up her lane every time she gets her broomstick out.

I made the following comment. I doubt it will be published, so I reproduce it here:

Let me get this straight. Someone who writes tat for a living is moaning about a 160+ mile journey being disrupted by unseasonal weather which the gov't and indeed private transport services are rarely able to prepare for, and when they do are criticised for wasting money on equipment which is rarely needed usually by the same pathetic nobodies that write columns such as Liz Jones'.

When, due to circumstances outside of her control make the journey delayed further, she sits in First Class, then complains about train staff (who have probably been working overtime due to the aforementioned weather, and in the same conditions as the passengers) taking a break.

Getting back to her illegally parked car she has rightly been given a ticket, and having been unprepared for the aforementioned weather she finds herself running out of petrol. Times really are hard for former editors who drive BMWs and live in country retreats.

Seriously love, shut up and go away.

Have a heart on the poor woman! She simply had to get the BMW and even to resort to public transport, after the lucky escape she had, following a horrific air crash whilst flying solo:

 My heart is bleeding for them "..... and I sit here in my expensive clothes" SELL THEM on ebay, second hand shop your friend etc bloody hell it's not rocket science

They really need to get a dose of reality Why send your kids to a private school if you've no money????????? get them in a local school oh wait I forgot they'd have to move again for the cachement area

Pity those poor folk in Italy whose relatives have been killed by a doped up driver

 oh this has really p*ssed me off

I only skimmed it as I could not be bothered past the "thats life" setup of the first couple of paragraphs (deluded idea that we are all here to look after her), but the nub of it seems that she was a couple of hour late getting a train to EXMOOR! Now I can see some point if the Eurostar is delayed but this is a westcountry backwater and she is moaning that the train took a bit longer to get her there.

I only read the Daily Mail when it is linked on here but it really gives me less reason to buy it each time!

Liz Jones's columns are real car-crash stuff. I know I shouldn't look, I know it's going to be horrible and yet ... Mind you, i wonder how much is actually true and how much is <ahem> exaggerated, although she certainly can't claim 'artistic licence'!

I don't like joining in communal kickings but in this case I'll make an exception.

She is totally self obsessed. She manages to turn everything round to me me me. I read an article online she wrote about the girl who won I'm a celeb get me outa here. I assumed she would be pouring bile the way she usually does but instead, the first few sentences proved me wrong. She was pleasant and full of praise for her. Then we found out why. She turned it around to an article about herself. Basically "Stacey is wonderful and she and I are so alike"
If you look up the word sociopath in the dictionary it will have a picture of her next to it.

Still it serves to remind me why I don't buy the rag in the first place.
