thanks all. I have looked at the EBC bikes before - they don't have any in my size. I will look again once I actually have cash in my hand. But would one of these be better quality than a used Galaxy etc. selling around the 500 mark?
As a general rule, you'll get a better spec and better value for money second hand - with the caveat that parts are likely to need replaced, particularly the drivetrain. A test ride and thorough check that there's no play in the BB, headset etc is a must.
Buying new should at least mean better reliability, though even here there can always be something that slips through the net. You'd at least (should!) be able to get any issues corrected, though.
