I had an incident with the Muddy Foxx Road shoes were the bolts came loose, and I ended up on the floor with the shoe still attached to the bike and myself lying about 5 foot away!!!! I got a set of DHB's from wiggle on sale for £35 what a difference!!!!

I was looking at the Muddy Fox shoes but they don't look great quality but I suppose that's why they are priced as they are. Are the DHB's as good as a pair of basic/ish Shimano shoes? http://www.wheelies.co.uk/p40522/Shimano-R087-SPD-SL-Shoes.aspx

I ideally need to try to spend less (all the accessories are totalling up) but want something decent.

I have yet to have a clipless moment, no doubt will happen on my ride home now. However since moving to SPD-SL's I have had an embarrassing moment walking down the stairs outside my gym and slipping all the way down them. I think I need to invest in cleat covers as it ripped both ankles and my hip pretty bad, plust the two families and group of ladies at the bottom looked a little surprised.

Long live the manly response of pretending everything is fine until well out of sight.....

Bought my first pair of MTB shoes, Shimano M087 wide fit. They are real good.
A word of advise if anyone looking to buy cycling shoes online (specially shimano), please try them in the stores as they come smaller for their size. Therefore you are better a size bigger.

will have to try this weekend and any clipless moment will follow on..!

Defy1, congrats on your clipless adventure.
