Only clipless moment ever was not long after I'd started back cycling after a few years out and a mate insisted that you MUST mount the bike and unclip kerbside first. This had been drilled into him in his time with BC.

Despite it feeling unnatural to me I said I'd give it a go. Swapped back to 'road' side after one and a 'timber' moment.

Left handed/ right side.

From the front on the recumbent, for now.
But that option isn't available.

How come there isn't an option for vaulting on from the rear after a running start?

Everything recumbent has to fall under the "I reject your reality and...." category. As does vaulting, a handstand backflip off the handlebars, doing forward/reverse cowgirl/boy and anything else you crazy kids get up to.

T'was the nearest option available, so was chosen.

I went for the last option because although I usually I dismount on the left and am right handed, I utilise my gymnastic skills when I forget to unclip. Which happens quite frequently. Or is that just blind panic?

I'm right handed. I always get on from the left as that's the kerb side. Feels a bit safer to me.

Setting off I'll clip in right foot first for the push off. When stopping I have no preference for unclipping. Whichever foot happens to be furthest from the ground at the time
