Aaand, it's done. Spent yesterday afternoon fiddling with the stay adjustments, then trimming them and fitting the plastic end caps. Getting the adjustment just right is such an annoying job. You think they're perfect, nip up the bolts and give the mudguard a wiggle to make sure, and it's off to one side. Move one stay and the other one's wrong. Get them even and it's too close or too far ... aargh!
Also changed the bolt inside the fork crown for one of these; a nice low profile to get a couple of mm extra clearance inside.
Anyway, very happy overall with how it's turned out. I never anticipated a major project, just select some, buy them and fit them. It was a useful exercise though.
Those "Bluemels Matt" were the right choice, go well on the bike. I like the finish, more a satin than a matte. Now to ride it more, it was too bloody cold this weekend.
