Ive washed my bike 3 times since ive started using it and it coats the chain and especially the cassette better than the Muc off dry i used to use, plus even in this crappy weather where ive rode through puddles pretty much up to the hub it seems to have lasted.

Then make sure you:
Clean inside the tyres and the rim wells.
Take out the Bottom Bracket and clean the BB and inside the frame/bracket space.
Take apart the crankset to get all the muck out of the tiny little gaps, including cleaning all the bolts.
Take off the handlebars and drop the forks so you can get into the headset gaps.
Take off bottle cages to clean underneath.
Use ear buds to clean the gaps in the chain.
Take off and take apart cassette so you can clean, inc. the space where the cassette sits against the hub.
Take off the brake callipers so you can get into all the tiny gaps where muck collects.
And so forth..that's a start for you.. then you may (just may) have the cleanest bike in all of England.
Right @fossyant

Impressive

@ianrauk has some really nice bikes, specially his Kona which is lovely and he knows how to keep them spotless.
nothing bugs me like a filthy cassette and chain, just no need for it and Ians bikes easily pass inspection standards.
Having said that, I think a few people are willing to duke it out for top honors in the clean bike award ;) @Sara_H is going to have to put some effort in for that acclaim

Let the cleaning commence :hyper:

You get me wrong.
A dirty bike is a bike that has been ridden.
No problem with that.
Leaving a bike dirty after a ride is a different matter.

A sin of which I've been guilty all my life. I openly admit to never cleaning my bikes. But now I've seen the error of my ways and plan to clean all the family bikes on a frequent basis.
