Get them from Rose in Germany. Free postage at the moment and I think 10% off.

Rose are a supplier I now consider when purchasing. I bought some excellent winter gloves from them recently and they sent me a pretty good saddle bag free of charge as well!

It's a good price for the Philips light at £79.90 which includes delivery. Oh I'm tempted, but I have no cash!

Hi does Rose have a website please?

Oops! I've gone and bought the light. However, it seems like a good light and a good price. Also as I mentioned earlier my B&M Ixon IQ is temperamental, and I can't depend on it. Mmm. I've almost convinced myself!

I'll let you know how I get on!

I went for the Ixon IQ, i know you had problems with yours Mags, but i also spoke to a few other people who have either had one or own one now, and i got nothing but rave reviews, so once it arrives i'll post up how i get on.

I'm actually considering getting rid of my Hope Vision 1 because even on level 2 out on the narrow country lanes I am p***ing off other vehicles. What now seems to be happening with some drivers is when they see my light coming towards them, they dip theirs, but as there is nothing much I can do about mine [takes too long to press the switch 4 times to get to lowest setting] they are still blinded by me so they go back to full beam and I am blinded. It's happened a few times now and on one occasion I couldn't see at all and found myself on the wrong side of the road, neither me or the car driver was amused and I could see his point of view.
I am only aware of 3 lights [battery powered] that are friendly to oncoming traffic : Ixon IQ; Exposure Strada; new Philips. Can anyone add to that list?

Surely just a matter of pointing it down at the road - and if your mounting allows, slightly to the left?
I can't see any reason to point a Hope Vision 1 straight ahead horizontally - it's a relatively narrow beam and IME won't light up the road surface adequately if you do.

I use a Light and Motion Seca 1400. Its a bit expensive (in fact, is bloody expensive!) but it is basically a full on proper headlight. Riding at night becomes a real pleasure with it. No more straining to spot the next upcomming pothole.

I use an LED Lenser P7 torch attached to my helmet. 40 quid. I've also got Ayups on my bars. The Ayups are enough for fast riding on unlit roads, but flick on the P7 and it's like the Ayups aren't even on.

If you don't mind me asking how is it attached ?, as i've got one of those Cree Led Torches and i'd like to do the sam.

That's a head light, not a specific helmet version.

I should have written a "headlamp the fits around your helmet as well as your head, held securely by trusty cable ties".

Well I'm glad I've bought one of those Philips lights. Last night on the way home, my Ixon IQ started playing up again, switching off. When it does this the best way to get it working again is to bang it off the handlebars. Unfortunately, it has now had one bang too many as the battery compartment disintegrated!:sad: My Hope 1 should keep me going until the new light arrives.

Oh and coming down the last hill on the way home, I hit a pothole which burst the front tyre and as I found out later catapulted one of my rear lights of into the distance.

Not my best commute home!
