Never owned a car... but was obsessed with them when i was young, especially if they looked like this:

...it's probably good that my obsession with cars wore off by the time i was old enough to drive.

Group B rally cars... Now you're talking... I was just getting into motorsport when the first of these were coming onto the scene... I've still got a thing for Group B rally cars even now... I like to paint them occasionally.

OK, am actually currently working on a painting of one of these... Another iconic rally car.

View attachment 390621 My Mum had one of these, but hers had more rust. It had a canvas roof so me and my little sis would stand on back seat with heads poking out as we bombed around Dorset. Renault 4, I salute you.

Ah, the Renault 4. Hit a bump while cornering and the whole thing flexed enough for doors to pop open.

Good Lad! I had a model kit of the Rothmans Escort, those decals were a royal PITA... looking back it would have been easier to paint it from scratch than slide those b@stard things into position.

I think car design aesthetically nose dived after the Ford Sierra... all the style was sucked out of them and every car began to resemble a boiled sweet. Reduced drag = sh!t looking cars.

Looking at some of the proper oldies... which bright spark decided to move the wing mirrors from half way down the wings to the door... thus taking all the fun out of adjusting them?

Colt Celeste, it looks huge in that picture whilst in real life they were quite small. I would buy one now if I could find a nice one.
The Garage I worked at opened a 2nd branch in Evington to sell 'Colt' cars, I always thought this was the best car they did, mind you it had about the longest name ever.
