OK, I have an old singlespeed that I built from a scrapyard find, and an expensive Carbon Cannondale.
It's a beautiful day and I have time to do a two or three hour ride; I know it's an opportunity to ride the Cannondale but basically I'd rather ride the singlespeed!
For some reason I just find the Cannondale remote; I always come back strangely unmoved by the experience. I know the back wheel is noisy and the bottom bracket needs some attention but I just haven't bonded with the bike!
I want to ride the singlespeed; I know I'll come back buzzing and thinking what a great bike it is.
I keep thinking, though, if I don't have a good ride on the Cannondale, its days have to be numbered. Maybe I should take it out and make a decision when I get back.
