I was in Brussels for new year and thought it was very expensive.

Even given the rate of the euro is terrible I thought it was a bit over the top.

The highlight being on News Years day being charged 56euros for 4 waffles with 2 toppings each, 2 hot chocolates, 2 cappuccinos and a litre bottle of water.

I remember getting sticker shock when I realised how much I'd paid for a round of drinks in Aarhus (Denmark). If in Denmark, drink tea

Iceland.

The prices are so high they make your gonads water. But we went by boat and stuffed the car with as much food and drink as we could so the holiday actually turned out to be quite cheap.

Depends on the item:
From persona experience

Most expensive booze is Geneva (Whiskey at £150 a litre)
Most expensive taxi's are in Prague (as controlled by local Mafia)
Most expensive hotel is Tokyo
Most expensive place to buy a car is Denmark
Most expensive place to run a car is Singapore

But overall it's difficult to beat London, even give the current poor pound we will still be in the top ten most expensive places on earth

As a visitor I don't find London that expensive. I agree with the nomination of Geneva though.

When I think about it. It was 5.10euros for a waffle with one topping

That's 20.40

I'd imagine it was an extra 1.50 for another topping if not more

That's 26.40

I'd imagine it was probably 4 or 5 euros for a coffee

that's 42.40 or 46.40

So he has ripped us off unless a litre of water is 13.60 or 9.60

They're mostly tourist traps there but 56 euros for that was definitely a rip off by the waiter. Nowhere would charge that.

I don't recall Brussels being any worse than Paris or London. Geneva made my eyes water though, and going out for a meal in Denmark is a wallet lightening experience.

Point of order. Question should be "What or Which is the most expensive city you've been (to)". Otherwise the answers will be "Switzerland", "Denmark" and so on...

I imagine wherever you go, you can find cheaper or more expensive places. My experience is pretty limited, so I can't really say...
