I predate Corley Services! :laugh:

When I used to cycle up there as a child there was no noisy M6 motorway, just rolling fields and silence.

I didn't arrive in Coventry till 1973 so I don't remember the rolling fields, but I have seen pictures, and it did look nice, as did a lot of the Warwickshire countryside they built on as Coventry expanded.

Since I don't drive, I don't have a legal way of getting there...

Mind you, on one of my West Midlands rides, I discovered a back way in!

As a young child I remember the regular drive from Stockport to Poulton-le-Fylde to visit my Grandma and we used to stop off in Corley on the way home at a very nice ice cream shop. Then the motorway came along bypassing Chorley and there were no more ice cream stops. :angry:
