Foot (has to be over 1 mile) - Sunday 8 mile walk
Bike - today (commuting)
Car - 4 days ago (town for shopping)
Bus - 1 year ago (town for meal, so we could both have a drink)
Train - 20 months ago (trip to London)
Plane - 5 1/2 years ago (holidays)
Boat - 5 1/2 years ago (over to France)
Taxi - 13 months ago (while recovering from an 'off')

From this I conclude I don't travel far from home very often!

Foot - Sunday, for a four or five mile stroll in the area around our (possible) new house.
Bike - errrr ... far too long ago. Probably September.
Car - about an hour ago, coming home from work.
Bus - March 17th 2008, to Abergavenny to walk the Mon & Brec Canal with some friends.
Train - April 2008, to my brother's in - laws' house near Watford, to get to Heathrow early next morning to catch a ...
...Plane - to Bahrain for the 2008 Bahrain GP.
Boat - Took the lorry on the Woolwich Ferry late last year.
Taxi - Same day I got the bus (see above). We missed the last bus home and had to pay £30 for a taxi.

Bike - will go out shortly to the hairdressers by a circuitous route (to make a 4 mile journey 15...)
Car - last night, to go to the chippie, as that pouring rain just meant the bike wasn't appealing enough!
Bus - Can't remember, must be more than a year ago, probably somewhere in Germany or Austria
Train - September's London Freewheel
Plane - December, returning from Berlin
Boat - Our last sail of the season was in late September
Taxi - about three weeks ago when I had a puncture and couldn't get the screw thingie off the valve!

I worked out yesterday that 95% of my car journeys (by distance) are transporting the bike. Which seems a bit odd!

Ours is similar - certainly the longest car journeys we make are with both bikes on the back of the car. I suppose it is a bit contradictory, but then if it means we don't use the car to get about the place we are based, there's a bit of a trade-off.

Bike - Saturday - braved the snow and ice to go to barbers - 6 mile round trip
Car - 1/2 hr ago -drove 24 miles to work
Bus - 3 years ago - went to Dublin by bus
Train - 5 years ago when in England (nearest train station to where I live is 25 miles away. never travel by train normally as a result).
Plane - 2 years ago - Belfast to Nottingham
Boat - 7 years ago to Rathlin Island
Taxi - 2 years ago in Nottingham

Clearly I don't travel very much either

Bike - Today, a mile or so across town.
Car - Weekend before last, a short lift home
Bus - Probably last July, when I was in Leicester for Mum's graduation and we got the bus to the Uni. No, I remember now, the coach back from Luton Airport in September...
Train - 29th December, coming back from Mum's after Christmas
Plane - September, flew to France (originally going by train, but fire in tunnel changed that).
Boat - Not entirely sure. It was either the ferry to the Isle of Wight to race a pedal boat, or to Orkney driving a minibus of field workers.
Taxi - July, in Leicester, coming home from Mum's graduation.

Interesting that none of us are frequent bus users so far then. Is this because we like our bikes too much!? Do the buses not go where we want them to? Or are those of us with access to them choosing to fall back on cars?

I don't really need to use buses. My journeys are either too long to do by bus, or short enough to walk. Actually, this applies to my bike as well ... oh, for a job closer to home!

Bus - December when I was off the bike , but only once as I can't be bothered to wait and normally walk.
Train -Today and every day for the rest of my working life...............

Boat - Now you're asking. Five years ago; one week trip to Gite in Normandy.
Taxi - November 2008. Return from rugby and I was half-cut. Don't like using them otherwise. Probably take one a year, if that.

Foot (has to be over 1 mile) - Today - 2 miles walk/slide to the train station, 1 mile or so at the other end to work.
Bike - a week or so ago now...still too icy for comfort where I am.
Car - Last Sunday, visiting family.
Bus - Prob. 12 years or so ago, if not more. Circuitous route from Gatley to Altrincham on what used to be the 11. Would have been quicker to walk.
Train - Today - Crewe to M'c'r Piccadilly.
Plane - 3 years ago? Holiday.
Boat - 2 years ago? Ferry to France.
Taxi - Prob. 3 years ago, to the airport.

To the op - have you ever heard of the "One Mile Solution"? Idea is you draw a radius of a mile around where you are, and try to do things by going on foot to local shops etc.
