I used to break spokes all the time on my standard Carrera wheels, so purchased some R501s which were bulletproof and gave me 1000s of happy miles. I'd say you're doing the right thing in upgrading.

I personally think that people (including myself) buy new wheels purely for the look unless your competing

I love the look of flashy wheels and thats why I bought my FWD wheel set.

Your not going to notice that much of a difference if your just commuting or going out for a hobby, maybe some but nothing to get statically crazy about.

Actually, you cannot get RS10's from Wiggle for that price... they are RS010's which are a different wheel to RS10's. The RS10's went EOL some time ago (when RS11's where released I'd imagine). Can't say what the difference between the RS10, RS010 and RS11 models are but one would suspect there's some but maybe not too much?!
RS010s are an upgrade from the RS10s that can take 11 gears. That's the only difference

Consider ShimanoR501s. I have R500s and theyve been bullet proof..
£70 from Ribbles. 24 spoke rear. RS10s replaced the 501s

I did post a reply about breaking the breaking spokes on my carrera and how i fixed it but another member siad i was talking rubbbish even though what was done fixed it .

Thanks I've bought the RS010s for £73.85 bargain!!

Nice , i have some rs 11s and im happy with them , the commuter uses r501s and for how much they cost i can view them as expendable as you can get them for £60 ish and a new freehub is £20 .

Ok well I'm no wheel expert (many would say "I know") but my R501's can be had cheap and are pretty robust?

Yep and just ride them to destruction....(I appreciate we cant do for how long and distance any more on here ) but you get my drift..

Ive just replaced a set with Zondas for 3 times the price and cant tell the difference..

The RS11s are the next upgrade I think. They are 200g lighter and more expensive

I could be wrong but I think the "0..." series are differentiated by being wider rims than the "1..." equivalents.

RS11 is the direct replacement for RS10, the difference being 11 speed instead of 10. RS010 is not equivalent to either, as it's a wider rimmed, 11 speed entry level wheel.

I've got a set of RS 11's that I bought as an upgrade for my commuter. Good set of wheels got mine from Merlin when they were doing a deal got the wheels and a 105 cassette for under £100. Deal is no longer available however the rims are still there for just under a ton...

Good set of wheels for the money imo and a noticeable upgrade from the Axis wheels that came with my Allez.
