I'm looking at upgrading my standard btwin wheels but only want to spend around £100. I'm pretty heavy at 17st. I was thinking Shimano RS10s as they seem very good value at £74 online. Any recommendations?

I'll start this one off, what's wrong with your "standard" wheels and how much better do you think £100 wheels will be?

I had the B'Twin Aero wheels and thought they were decent. Why do you wish to upgrade? I don't think you'll get much benefit upgrading spending £100. Spend that money on better tyres with less rolling resistance.

What wheels are on your bike now?

Yip I've been breaking spokes and from research I've done on here and on Triban owners forum lots of people have been saying the standard btwin wheels on the t3 are terrible and many suggest an upgrade. Apparently a standard upgrade is to R501s or RS10s. My lbs also suggested upgrading and said to do a bit research online. Which is what I'm doing

I ran RS10's and RS20's for thousands of miles and only ever snapped one spoke, and I wasn't much lighter then than you are now.

Good budget wheels.

Standard btwin wheels on at the mo. The bike was only 300 so don't want to spend too much. Like I said I can buy RS10s for on £73.85 from wiggle or fulcrum 7s for £109. Both are surely an upgrade that I will see some difference with??

Actually, you cannot get RS10's from Wiggle for that price... they are RS010's which are a different wheel to RS10's. The RS10's went EOL some time ago (when RS11's where released I'd imagine). Can't say what the difference between the RS10, RS010 and RS11 models are but one would suspect there's some but maybe not too much?!

Go for ones with as many spokes as possible if 17 stone
Check the recommended weigh limits for any stock wheels (85kg on fulcrum 5s for example IIRC), I guess 17 stone is around 110?
