Apart from one thug-racer the roads were bliss.
If only we could cease Sunday Trading...

Having lived in Stornoway for 21 years that was one of the nice things about the place. Roads were not safe with Sunday church drivers tho'.

I did get out for a ride during the funeral and covered exactly 96km. Very little traffic on the roads and I saw a lot more family groups or social groups out on bikes out than for quite some time and no club groups.

With the supermarkets being closed, the car parks were empty and one of them in Ipswich was being used to give a little girl cycling lessons by her dad while her brothers were bombing around the open space on their bikes.

I've been away so managed to avoid the worst of it, although I've followed the madness on the net.

This meant that, although it was a bank holiday today I had a load to catch up on so I was busy much of the day, plus some post-holiday bits and bobs. I never found time to get out on my bike.

Hopefully it's all over now and we can go back to normal.

Did you find any Gateaux?

Apologies in advance Andy, I couldn't resist!

Good point: I've been cycling around the Black Forest for a year or two now, and no-one has offered me any cake...

I didn't ride, but I stepped out in my garden for a few minutes during the Westminster Abbey service.

it was like first lockdown, not completely dead, but the usual prominent 24x7 roar of traffic was drowned out by birdsong, and the pavements were empty.

I noted on commercial channels they had to keep the ad breaks due to time slots but there was no advertising, just a picture of the Queen with a bit of classical music for 2-3 mins. So advertising is 'disrespectful' but having pint in Weatherspoons isn't?. Who makes this stuff up?.
