My ideal shed would be our dining room - right size, heated, power, lots of light, opens onto the patio, access to the front door, utility room, toilet and kitchen. Unfortunately this use has been vetoed!

I don't know which I find more depressing - the fact that there is a DIY Network, or the fact that someone thought "Man Caves" was a good name for a TV show.
don't knock it pal. It pays the mortgage! And you can't knock a format that travels. To Iraq. http://www.mancavesi...raq_Jackets.htm

in some ways, our cellar is the perfect shed as the road bikes and all tools etc live there, and the wifi also works down there.

the downside is not being able to spend more time in there, what with the kids and all. i can get away with 15 mins or so if i put some washing in the machine or tumble drier while i'm down there…

And the smith I used to go to for launch bits is retiring next year, says I get first dibs on his tools!!

My dream shed would be fitted with so many solar panels, it could power welding gear. Also, it would be big enough that I build a tandem tricycle in it.

Mine's in mid-France, by a Merlot vineyard on the southern slopes overlooking a village square with a boulangerie, pattiserie and charcuterie. It doesn't need a lock and sleeps 10 if required... ah, the power of imagination..
