So, your shed would have a piano in it!

Actually, come to think of it, so would mine, with Hugh Laurie playing light music on it.
I've got a better idea - I'll move my bikes, tools and spares into the new fantasy bike shop shed and then I'll be able to move my keyboards downstairs and set them up in the space vacated by the bikes! It's pretty hard practising scales on a keyboard leaning against the attic bedroom wall!

Man Caves http://www.diynetwor...show/index.html one of Leopard Films more outre (with an accent) offerings

Guys need an exclusive space to hang out in their homes -- a refuge where they can enjoy what they love, whether it's a soundproofed basement used as a rock 'n' roll lounge and adorned with limited edition guitars; a room where diehard ski fans can chill out with a roaring fireplace and alpine atmosphere; or a lush golf-lover's paradise, featuring a state-of-the-art virtual reality driving range, media center and top-notch equipment storage space. Because DIY Network understands there's an environment for every guy that makes him feel fulfilled, we recruited licensed contractor Jason Cameron and former NFL great Tony "The Goose" Siragusa to offer amazing ideas for the ultimate Man Caves. In each episode of this awesome DIY Network series, Jason and The Goose create a man cave solely for one lucky guy, plus offer ideas and expert do-it-yourself instruction to help homeowners everywhere construct their own personal hangouts.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
I don't know which I find more depressing - the fact that there is a DIY Network, or the fact that someone thought "Man Caves" was a good name for a TV show.

A radio tuned to R4 with iPod connectivity. Fantastic lighting. A kettle. A urinal. Carpet. Plenty of shelves and hooks. Loads of sockets. A bookshelf for manuals etc. A lathe, pillar drill and grinding wheel. An extractor fan. Everything off the floor for easy cleaning. Heating. A house phone extension. A sink with hot water and a parts cleaning cabinet with paraffin circulation. A small oven. A stool. A comfy chair. Somewhere for the cat to sleep.

Everything on here plus a 50" flatscreen TV connected to a computer as a monitor so that I can watch Biketutor downloads (and post on here of course  ). Maybe tune the radio to Classic FM though.

I am lucky enough to have my dream shed, it's a double garage really but it's never had a car in there. There are just three bikes at the moment. Being a builder it didn't cost me anything really, just my time to build as most of the materials were 'surplus' on sites, the rest came from skips. It's a great 'man space' to escape to but the wifey did slip in a washing machine and chester frezzer.

It's great having loads of space, room for my building tools, bike gear, multigym & exercise bike. Loads of storage (old kitchen units) means it doesn't get too cluttered and I find my 6x3 joiners bench is also great for working on the bike and base for the lads pool table:smile: I put some old carpet tiles down a few years ago, they make the space feel much better.

Mine would be rght next to the house with a connecting door.

Ground floor would be the size of a large double or triple garage.
Room for the landrover with the doors open and stuff on the roof, plus a large island workbench, plus tools plus bikes. Shelving all around
Upstairs in the attic would be the wood lined office, with wood burning stove kitchen worksurface down one side with stoage underneath full fitted for computers, TV's, comfy chairs, fridge, sink, even a loo/shower.
Plus loads of storage for camping gear etc

As we are mid terrace with a pocket hankerchief of a garden we will need to buy next door and probably next door to them as well

oh yes! Ideally something recessed into the floor so I could just ride the trike in, park, and then raise it, but have the floor space when it wasn't needed....

Google 'sheila maid'

I use that to lift my bike to an ideal work height
I have 3 string loops, one for each handgrip and one for the saddle wich fir on the bars

Well starting from my garage (shed really) I'd like it to be

1) Tidy and organised
2) Warm and dry

1) because at present it is full of junk and I can't move in it
AND
2) because even if it was 1) it's so bl**dy cold (and sometimes damp) in there in the winter I can't use it.

I dunno who this Chester Frezzer is, but I'd chuck him out if I were you, unless he pays rent....

Room for the landrover with the doors open and stuff on the roof,
Now that would require a tall door - I can't get my Landy in my shed (garage) even without the roof rack as the standard size garage door is too low...
