What's your dream shed like?

Mine would just be bigger - like 8x6 or 10x6 maybe? (currently 5x7 - not enough really for 2 bikes and assorted garden clutter), warm (insulated), dry, light (including electric hook-up), a bit of a bench with a vice for holding bits that needed fettling, a few shelves...

Well, I can dream, can't I?

:shy:

I'd be more interested in having a garden for my dream shed to sit in!

I live in a little terraced house that is on a cobbled street, the front door opening to the pavement and the rear door opening to a tiny back yard. I'd only be able to fit a shed 5 ft square in there. Any bigger and I wouldn't be able to use my back door!

I thought Arch was thinking of dream sheds in fantasy gardens so you could have a 10,000,000 sqft shed in your back yard.

Okay then!

Actually... I don't really fantasise about sheds, but if I did, mine would look awfully like a well-equipped bike shop with a team of skilled mechanics on call 24/7. I'd be able to get my bikes cleaned and checked over after every ride, and any necessary adjustments, repairs or upgrades made for me in time for my next ride.

I'm not really the tinkering or fettling type. I only do it when I have to and because I can't afford to pay somebody else to do it for me. I would rather spend the time that would be spent in shed-type activities doing something else instead, such as having Spanish, guitar and piano lessons.

mine would have a lap danceing club over in one corner away from all the bits i play with and a screw fix warehoues in another corner so i would never have to go and look for tools .in another corner 50 inch plsma with sky and an area done out like a lounge with open fire and in the last corner a cafe for my food and in the middle the loo so i dont have to far to walk when iam in one of the corners having fun and last but not least a big lock on the door to keep the wife and kids out

So, your shed would have a piano in it!

Actually, come to think of it, so would mine, with Hugh Laurie playing light music on it.

I've already got a garage and two wooden sheds in my garden, but there is still space for my ideal shed. A bit like the Dr Who police box, it would take up little garden space, but inside the floor space would stretch to infinity.

I'd have a large wooden shed (nothing else has the right smell) with a fridge, a dartboard, a sofa, and a stack of old copies of "Fiesta" for nostalgia's sake.

Oh and a workstand and bike stuff, obviously.

At the moment, I have 2 brick built sheds, but only one is big enough for my bike... alas, it's not big enough for anything else once the bike is in there.

My shed is 12 ft x 8 ft in there I have several cupbaords with the usual man things in. I have a large table with my computer and a moniter which is also a T.V. (This where I am at the moment writing this) I also have tea and coffee making facilities with a radiator fed of the central heating and is on full wap. (toastie) I like my shed peace and quiet.

Apart from a good workstand, I'd need a worktop onto which I could lift (preferably with some sort of assistive hoist) my trike, to work on it at waist height, and not have to crouch down on the floor. Ideally in an island format, so that I could work all round it.

How about this?

I don't dream of sheds, however we already have the basis for what I would dream about, if I did, which is a small two-storey wooden barn. It just needs complete refurbishment and repainting, and I'd like to insulate it so we can use it for more of the year. There's a small wood-burning stove we will install when we've done that.

Thats bigger than my house.

I'd quite like a shed like this:
