Headwinds are horrid. Sidewinds are possibly more dangerous, especially when idiots in cars fail to grasp that a cyclist might have more issues with the wind than they are having. I always seem to end up spending lots of time in primary when there's a sidewind...
Black ice... when I got back into cycling, I wasn't too canny about that sort of thing in my first winter of regular cycling, and once (on a back lane in the middle of nowhere) found myself sliding along the road on my tummy, the bike sliding along in front of me... that was a lesson learnt
